EnergyInfusion is an innovative blend of yoga, meditation, breath awareness, energetic and intuitive healing that can bring a sense of calmness and well-being to your body and spirit. This can be done in person or long distance.
Volumes have been written on Reiki (energetic healing), yoga, pranayama and meditation. Below, are brief definitions of each since they are integral to EnergyInfusion.
Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is the Japanese word derived from two words, Rei, which translates as God’s wisdom or higher power and Ki, which means life force energy. Combined, Reiki means spiritually guided life force energy. Reiki can provide balance, harmony and unconditional love in your life and bring healing and well-being on all levels. The channeled energy is always for your highest good and compliments any religious belief you may or may not have.
Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root yuj meaning union. It is the means to bring the physical, mental and emotional parts of us into harmony with our spiritual source. The postures, breath and inner focus are the tools we use to gain an experience of a deeper inner state of being. There are many forms or paths of yoga, all brings us to the same realization of the Self. The paths of yoga include karma: service to others without expectation of return or personal gain; bhakti: considered the yoga of the heart and a direct path of devotion where one sees everything as an expression of the Self or love; jnana: the yoga of knowledge through the study of the scriptures and texts of the yogic tradition, and raja: the path of integrating all paths of yoga. Hatha yoga is used as a means to cleanse, purify and prepare the mind and body for the higher spiritual disciplines.
Pranayama: Prana means that which is everywhere and ayama means to stretch or extend. It refers to the regulation of prana or the vital force of the breath. The purpose of working with our breath is to affect our mind. The mind and breath are intimately connected. The breath is a barometer for the condition of our mind and also a means to affect change in the mind to quiet thought flow. The body, breath and spirit are deeply intertwined with each other. Breath awareness draws us deeper into the subtle body creating mental clarity and peace of mind and the body responds in kind by being peaceful and healthy as well. Joy comes from losing yourself in the breath.
Meditation is the merging of mind and body into the Self, the consciousness that resides within. It is a very powerful tool. Its true purpose is to take the mind to a place of nothingness. When meditating, we clear out all the activity of the day, bringing about a sense of peace, stillness and balance. The more it is practiced, the easier it becomes.
In-person
While a session can be performed virtually anywhere, when done in my studio, a client enters a “womb” like environment; low lights, candles, incense, calming music, massage table dressed in fleece sheets, blankets and fluffy pillows. We begin by sitting on cushions (or a chair), calming and centering the body and mind and inviting in deep cleansing breath and creating intention for your session. We then move to the table where, fully clothed, you are enveloped in warmth and comfort. The spiritually guided life force energy is channeled from the Divine source through my hands and given to you. A Reiki treatment creates a radiance that is deeply relaxing and often a client will feel a sense of warmth or heat radiating from my hands. It is healing on all levels: spiritually, mentally and physically. Intuition and many hand placements are used during a Reiki session to direct the flow of energy to specific areas of need. Once the treatment is complete, we often share insights or issues that came up during the treatment. I then offer (and demonstrate) yoga postures and philosophy, pranayama and other suggestions that are relevant to your session and intention. Clients usually leave feeling calm, relaxed and lighter. Sessions last approximately one hour.
My studio is located in historic Woodstock, Illinois, a one hour scenic train ride from downtown Chicago. I am just steps from the Metra Northwest train station.
Long distance
Reiki is very effective long distance because energy has no boundary. Where intention goes, energy flows. We set up a mutually agreed upon time. I suggest that clients treat this time as sacred, just as you would do if you came in person. It is best to have quiet surroundings and sit comfortably. You are encouraged to settle your body, focus on your breath and set an intention. We discuss ahead of time what your intention is. I transmit the spiritually guided life force energy to you. Once complete, I will call you to discuss insights or concerns you may have. Sessions last approximately one hour, including the follow-up phone call.
Sessions can also be done through email. Send me your questions or concerns. Within 24 hours, you will have a written response that addresses your questions along with suggested actions.

Throughout my spiritual journey, I have learned many techniques, rituals and healing modalities that have become part of my everyday life that truly bring happiness, sweetness, abundance, prosperity, health and joy into my days. Remember, this is not a dress rehearsal. This is your life. How do you choose to live each of your days? Many of these rituals are simple yet powerful.
These Principles help remind me to stay in the present moment. Read them slowly, out loud if possible. Repeat” Just For Today, Choose To”, for each one.
The 5 Reiki Principles (Developed by the Meiji Emperor as told by Master Usui)
Just For Today, Choose To:
Not Anger
Not Worry
Be Grateful
Work Hard
Be Kind To Others And Yourself
Gratitude Bells
We get more of what we focus on. Where is your attention? Joy grows more joy. Each time I hear bells (I happen to live near a bell tower) I pause, and silently say, with each gong, what I am grateful for in that moment. (I especially love when I get 10, 11 or 12 bells!) Doing this brings a smile to my heart and more joy into my day. You can use the ringing of the telephone, the timer on your oven etc., any tone that reminds you to pause to say thank you.
Incense and candles
Each morning, I intuitively select one, light it and take a few moments and breathe in the sweetness of the fragrance. This helps me start my day calm and relaxed. I also light candles in the bathroom. I repeat this ritual at the end of the day to relax and unwind and prepare for a restful sleep.
Love Notes
One of my favorite activities that brings in more joy and love into my life and those that I care about. Sticky notes in lunches, tucked into brief cases, written on lunch bags, e-notes, phone messages, drawing hearts in the snow and sand. The opportunities to express our feelings are endless. I enjoy being playful and lighthearted in my notes. It brings closeness with the recipient and expands my heart.
Breath break
Throughout my day, I will stop and really focus on my breath. Deep, cleansing breath that starts, on the inhalation at the hip bones, travels through the chest, expanding the ribs out east to west, coming to rest in the collar bones then allowing the exhalation to begin softly, ending at the hip bones. Then the process mindfully begins again. This full breath awareness is especially effective when I am fatigued or nervous. Slowing down the breath creates calmness in the body. After just a few minutes, I feel energized yet relaxed.
Chanting
While my speaking voice is melodic, my singing voice is not. I was the kid in the school choir who was asked to mouth the words. Chanting affords me the opportunity to use my voice, without judgment and connect with the Divine. One of my favorites is Om. Begin with an inhalation then allow the sound aaaaaaaaaa to come out followed by uuuuuuuuuu then mmmmmmm. Feel the vibration of the primordial sound, the connection to the Divine, to all that is.
Take your inner child out to play day
Indulge your inner child by enjoying an ice cream cone without guilt; go on the swings at the park; feed the ducks; take her (or him) to a kid movie and get popcorn, with butter; take a nap.
I will email you new "tools" that are appropriate to changing seasons and events in our lives and rituals that make our days more joyful. May you be well, peaceful and happy.
